Monday Night Prayer

Monday Night Prayer

Lord, you created the world

by your love.

You redeemed the world

through your love.

You maintain the world

with your love.

Help us to give our love to you,

Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(Silence)

I believe, O God of all gods, that you are

the Creator of all things

I believe, O God of all gods, that you are

the Lord and giver of life.

I believe, O God of all gods, that you are

the sustainer of all peoples.

I believe, O God of all gods, that you are

the giver of breath and spirit.

I believe, O God of all gods, that you are

the giver of body and mind.

I believe, O God of all gods, that you are

here with us now.

PSALM 148

Praised be God our creator.

Alleluia!

Praise the Lord from the heavens,

praise him in the heights.

Praise him all you angels of his;

praise him, all his host.

Praise him, sun and moon;

praise him, all you shining stars.

Praise him, heaven of heavens,

and you waters above the heavens.

Let them praise the name of the Lord;

for he commanded and they were created.

He made them stand fast for ever and ever;

he gave them a law which shall not pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,

you sea-monsters and all deeps;

Fire and hail, snow and fog,

tempestuous wind, doing his will;

Mountains and hills,

fruit trees and cedars;

Wild beasts and cattle,

creeping things and winged birds;

Kings of the earth and all peoples,

princes and all rulers of the world;

Young men and maidens,

old and young together,

let them praise the name of the Lord,

for his name is exalted,

his splendour is over earth and heaven.

He has raised up strength for his people

and praise for his loyal servants,

the children of Israel, a people who are near him.

Alleluia!

Praise be God our Creator.

Romans 8:19-21(NRSVA)

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

BLESS THE LORD

Blessed are you, the God of our ancestors,

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed is your holy and glorious name,

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed are you in your holy and glorious temple,

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed are you who look into the depths,

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed are you, enthroned upon the cherubim,

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed are you on the throne of your kingdom,

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Blessed are you in the heights of heaven

worthy to be praised and exalted for ever.

Lord have mercy,

Lord have mercy,

Christ have mercy,

Christ have mercy

Lord have mercy

Lord have mercy.

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power,

and the glory are yours

now and for ever.

Amen.

For the beauty of the earth,

Father of all, we praise you.

For the mystery of creation,

Father of all, we praise you.

For the wonders of the universe,

Father of all, we praise you.

For the power within all things,

Father of all, we praise you.

For all who work the land

Creator hear us.

For all who care for our planet

Creator hear us.

For all involved in conservation,

Creator hear us.

For all who improve our environment

Creator hear us.

Almighty God, Creator of all things, Maker of all people,

grant that we may find a unity in you,

that we may be joined together in a bond of peace,

that we may share, with justice, the rich resources of the world,

that no one may be in hunger, or oppressed,

that none of your creation may be spoiled or misused.

We ask this in the name of him who gave himself for the world,

Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

God, who made the world, protect you this night.

Christ, who redeemed the world, give you peace this night.

The Spirit, who sustains the world, be with you this night.
